First of all, thank you for
visiting my website! I hope you have enjoyed your stay so far! I was born in Stockholm, Sweden on May 30th, 1975 and spent my early childhood there with the exception of two years in Tanzania, Africa. I currently live in the town of Linköping, where I spent most of my later childhood and teen years. I was also fortunate enough to be able to live in Columbus, OH (USA) for one year. I've always loved animals, particularly horses and dogs, and learned how to ride at a mere three years of age while living in Tanzania. I've remained faithful to the equine species ever since, although I currently can't afford to keep a horse of my own. For those wondering how to pronounce my last name ;)... "yer-peh" is pretty close. Just as in Spanish the "h" is silent. In 1985 I found the model horse hobby which provided me with an ideal way to combine my love of horses as well as art. I've been an active and devoted participant ever since on both a national and international level. I was among the founders of the Swedish Model Horse Society in the early 90s and have served as both President and Vice President. I no longer have time to serve on the Board, but try and keep up to date with "my" part of the world. Over the years I've written a plethora of articles on various equine-related subjects, and was a regular contributor to the well-known Horsing Around magazine (now defunct). I'm also a member of the wonderful Realistic Equine Sculpture Society (RESS). Besides my involvement with the model horse hobby, my background is somewhat diverse. I'm a licensed massage therapist and also hold an international license as a fitness instructor. Since the spring of 2004 I'm officially a full-time student. I dropped out of the Swedish equivalent of US high school when I was 16, but with advancing age and feeling the need to challenge those small grey cells of mine, I finally felt motivated enough to go back to school. I currently study French at Linköping University and plan on ending up with a Master of Arts, specializing in English/French/Swedish translation.
When not indulging in having fun with those fellas, I try and find the time to play the piano, read, visit museums and spend time with my friends... preferably over a dinner complete with quality wine. I used to be quite the party animal, but I've mellowed with age ;)... still love a good game of pool complete with a couple of beers though! I am somewhat of a computer nerd and spend way too much time in front of mine! I tend to hang out a lot on Model Horse Blab when I have some time to spare (and also when I actually don't!) I also try and keep in touch with many of the terrific friends I've made over the years. The coming of the Internet certainly made daily life and contact much easier and definitely more interesting!I will add stuff to this page as I find the time... here are some links to start with: Caravan's Lai'if Morafiq: A Tribute SwCh SW-04-05-06 Ameqqarzounadu |
